Hello, I’m Chris Bland and welcome to Acorn, mywholefood café, in the heart of the Shropshire hills.
It’s 20 years since we started producing healthy eating food and we are still in the forefront of wholefood cooking in the country.
We are situated on the main street in Church Stretton—look out for my ivy covered entrance— and we have both an inside and outside eating service. In the summer ourlovely tea garden is a haven of peace, with only the birds to share your enjoyment. Insidewe cater for up to fifty people, in our Little Oaks and Acorn Coffee lounges.
We continue to produce new recipes, our soup range is endless, and we always have avariety of vegetarian options available.
Please appreciate that all the dishes served throughout the day are home cooked andfreshly prepared —they are real food taste dishes, made with love, and a sense of helpingall our customers to achieve healthy eating habits.
We pick all the fruit for our fruit pies and crumbles, locally, and all the jams served with ourdelicious scones are made from this fruit.
We make our own marmalade, humus, mincemeat, garlic mushrooms, salad dressings—our famed speciality hot meat pies compliment our vegetarian dishes, our many and varied cakes and desserts are to die for.
Many dishes are geared to specialist diets and tastes, with gluten free, sugar free, wheat free and vegan tastes catered for.
We use locally produced ingredients where we can, organic wholemeal flour to make our pastry, cakes, scones and puddings and we use organic produce as the first choice.
Our teas and coffees are fair traded products. Come to the Acorn for real home made tastes– for inspired recipes—for careful selection of ingredients that enhance your appetites, but won’t damage your digestive system.
It’s a unique place—I hope you will spend quality time sampling SIMPLY GOOD FOOD.
